The Pennine Way passes through the village and it is an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding countryside.

Hareshaw Linn is a wooded valley close to the village centre, providing a super family walk up to the spectacular 30' waterfall at the end of the gorge. The return walk takes approximately 2 hours to complete. A leaflet is available from Bellingham Tourist Information Centre and from all National Park Visitor Centres.
