Amount awarded: £9,500

The diversity of projects funded by the Sustainable Development Fund can perhaps best be demonstrated by the support that was offered to The Chevy Chase.

This project, which entailed the production of a short documentary film, focussed on the 50th anniversary of the gruelling fell run called the Chevy Chase. The run is embedded in local culture, with the National Park backdrop providing some of the greatest scenery in the world. The production of the film captured some stunning quality footage of the wildlife and the natural landscape. The footage is currently being broadcast on the Community Channel, which contributed £7,000 to the project, along with further support from Berwick Upon Tweed Borough Council for the sum of £5,500.
