Development Control Committee

The meeting of the Development Control Committee meeting scheduled for 17th February 2010 has been cancelled as there are no items of business to discuss.

The next meeting of the Development Control Committee is scheduled to be held on Wednesday 24th March 2010 at 10.30am at Northumberland National Park Headquarters, Eastburn, Hexham.  The meeting will be open to members of the public.  

Opportunities for members of the public to address the Development Control Committee with regard to planning applications which are being considered are available at all Development Control Committee meetings.  For further details please consult the guidance document.

Membership

All Development Control Committee meetings are open to the public and you are welcome to attend. Members of the public may speak in support of, or in opposition to, planning applications which go before the Development Control Committee under the Authority's public speaking scheme.

The Development Control Committee 'holds the responsibility for exercising the Authority's powers and duties in relation to all Development Control matters arising from all current and extant planning legislation, except where those powers are delegated to Officers or to the Development Control Panel'. The committee consists of 11 Members with a representation reflecting the balance of Members from the three appointing groups (County Council, Parish Council and Secretary of State National appointees).
