Grass Cutting
Northumberland National Park Authority cuts the grass on its public sites to ensure a pleasant visitor experience and to favour endangered plant species where appropriate. We also cut the vegetation on rights of way that pass through Wark Forest to aid the use of these routes.
What grass won't National Park Authority cut?
We do not cut the grass that is:
- privately owned
- on properties/estates owned by bodies other than the Authority
What grass will the National Park Authority cut?
We will cut the grass on all council owned land, i.e.
- National Park Authority sites
- Wark Forest rights of way
- Road side lay-bys on the A68 within the National Park

How often do we cut the grass?
The National Park Authority cuts the grass it owns generally 10 times throughout the summer months except on the rights of way where this is done twice a year.
