Description: Agreed baseline and targets for reduction in car use.

Baseline: £200,000

Target: 2005/06 5% reduction of £10,000

Target: 2006/07 10% reduction of £20,000

Northumberland National Park Authority recognises the impact of car use by its officers for commuting to and for work.  

The National Park Authority is proactive in trying to reduce the amount of travelling undertaken by officers, for example by offering home working wherever possible and telephone conferencing facilities.

The baseline of £200,000 is derived from the journeys made commuting to and from work as well as any costs incurred for travelling on Northumberland National Authority business.  

The reduction of car use will be reviewed on an annual basis.
