Coast and Country programme - 2009

Coast and Country delivers a half day workshop with a half day field visit. Each day introduces you to:

  • a topic of interest to yourself and visitor
  • how to get out there and walk the walk, see the wildlife, find the local food and know in which direction to point your visitor for more information
  • how to help you and your visitor do this as sustainably as possible
  • network links to people and businesses who can help you pull together experiences and packages for your visitors
  • written material, leaflets and brochures to support the topics.

March 12, Wooler

Based at the Cheviot Centre in Wooler.

Top spots for nature and beauty: where they are and what they offer.

Martin Kitching of Northern Experience Wildlife Tours will lead the day and along with other specialists reveal some of the best nature and beauty spots in Northumberland National Park and Northumberland Coast AONB. They may be old favourites of yours or new discoveries. We will have a chance to visit some top spots in the Cheviot Hills in the afternoon. All places mentioned or visited will be places you can direct your visitors to.

April 23, West Woodburn

Based in West Woodburn.

Northumberland Arts, Music and Crafts. Where to view and buy

Local artists and musicians will introduce you to the Art Tour, local music and the superb opportunity this presents for your visitors to really get a flavour of the creative side of Northumberland. There will be a chance to visit one if not two studios local to West Woodburn. Hopefully you will go away with a real feel for what the Art Tour can do for your business and the experience on offer for your visitor.
