Falstone Old School

Inside Falstone Old School © NNPAFalstone Old SchoolFalstone Old School houses a tea room and village shop under one roof and provides a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere and a chance to find an unusual gift from our extensive range of locally sourced crafts.

Our crafts include pottery and paintings of local scenes by David Bellilios, earrings by Lucy Clayton, jewellery made from recycled metals by Jordan Moody, plus a range of crafts made in Falstone.

Falstone Old School opened in September 2004 in the former Victorian school rooms at the heart of the village. The business in a sustainable, environmentally-friendly way and the building itself includes a number of sustainable energy features including photovoltaic cells in the roof to provide electricity, a wood pellet boiler to for heating plus grey-water recycling for the adjacent public toilets. In 2005 the project was granted a Special Award for Rural Design from the Civic Trust as a 'unique sustainable amenity for the local community and its visitors'.

We are currently working on local food sources.

We are also providing local employment and training opportunities.
