Horsley Printmakers

Rebecca Vincent and Carol Nunan, two artist/printmakers, set up Horsley Printmakers in June 2004 at The Hearth, a new arts centre in the pretty village of Horsley, in the heart of Hadrian's Wall country. Here they have their own studio in an old Victorian school room which is part of a 17th and 19th century complex of rejuvenated church buildings where they make and sell their own work whilst also offering printmaking workshops - something they have been doing together for The Centre for Lifelong Learning (University of Sunderland) for over ten years.

You can see the artists at work as Carol and Rebecca create handmade original prints on paper - etchings, monoprints, collagraphs and lino-cuts in their studio where you can also view a large selection of framed and unframed work. The studio is regularly open on Wednesdays 10am - 3pm and Thursdays 10.30 - 4.30pm. There are other days when the artists are in the studio but it is best to ring or email in advance to avoid disappointment. The studio is also open at the weekend for special events such as the Art Tour in June and July. Information will be posted on this website regarding the next open studio weekend.

The artists' education programme includes weekend and holiday courses, daytime and evening classes, supported sessions and one-to-one tuition. Horsley is a village in the Tyne Valley, Northumberland just ten minutes west of Newcastle and Gateshead off A69 and roughly half way between Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Hexham and only one mile south of Hadrian's Wall.
