The Hytte

Green Business Tourism Scheme Gold © NNPAA luxurious, 5-star self-catering lodge on the edge of Northumberland National Park, designed to accommodate wheelchair-dependent people and their families, has been awarded the sought-after Gold grading by the Green Tourism Business Scheme.

The Hytte at Bingfield near Corbridge has an M3 accessibility rating by Visit Britain's Quality and National Accessibility Scheme - the only accommodation of this calibre in the north east. Situated in open countryside on the edge of Northumberland National Park, it sleeps eight plus cot and is located for ease of access to Hadrian’s Wall, the airport and the city.

The Hytte is an impressive Norwegian-style mountain lodge, built entirely in wood with an insulating turf roof and a geothermal heating system that uses the natural temperature of the earth.

Accommodation is in four bedrooms, one of which has twin electric beds. There are fine views from the decked veranda and all the bedrooms, a roll-in shower room, a hoist for the shower, as well as a heavenly hot tub and delightful sauna facilities.
