Standards Committee
The next meeting of the Standards Committee will be held in November 2010. Date and venue to be confirmed.
The Standards Committee consists of three Independent Members and four Members of the Authority and was established as required by the Local Government Act 2000 to promote and maintain high standards of conduct by Members of the Authority; through adoption and operation of a Code of Conduct; to determine complaints referred by the Standards Board to the Committee for local determination; and to investigate or comment on any matters relating to ethical standards referred to it by the Chief Executive or Monitoring Officer.
Meetings of the Standards Committee are held on an ad hoc basis when there are items of business to discuss. Advance notice of meetings will be published here. The role of the Standard's Committee is explained in the current Terms of Reference.
