Strategic Leadership Panel
The Strategic Leadership Panel consists of eight* Members of Northumberland National Park Authority and the Officers on the Strategic Management Team. The Members include the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and six* Lead Members elected at the Annual Meeting who each take on responsibility for an element of the National Park Vision or an area of the Authority's work.
* One of the Lead Member roles may be taken by the Deputy Chairman which will reduce the total number of Members on the Panel.
The role of the Strategic Leadership Panel is to advise the National Park Authority, the Chief Executive (National Park Officer) and the Strategic Management Team on the strategic exercise of its powers and to propose a 3 year rolling business plan and annual budget for consideration by the National Park Authority.
At their meeting on 22nd July 2009, the Strategic Leadership Panel agreed that the Lead Member roles should be more closely aligned to the main objectives set out in the newly adopted National Park Management Plan. Titles for five of the Lead Members were amended to reflect these changes.
