Our main statement of intent is provided within our Comprehensive Equality Policy. The Comprehensive Equality Scheme published in February 2008 develops this commitment further and shows the action being taken to progress, using the framework of the Equality Standard working with each of the equality strands - age, disability, gender, race, religion/ belief and sexual orientation. The Comprehensive Equality Scheme now incorporates the Disability Equality Scheme and the Gender Equality Scheme which were previously freestanding documents.

The Equal Opportunities in Employment Policy sets out guidance to employees and job applicants on the Authority's aim to be an equal opportunities employer.

The Valuing Ability Policy provides general advice, which staff can refer to for their own benefit and to help members of the public when providing services.

Equality and Diversity in Procurement provides a template for potential suppliers to the Authority wishing to develop their own equality and diversity policy.
