The project is now coming to an end and at the moment there are no further Cheviot Hills Heritage Project events planned. However, there are still a few things taking place within the project area over the next few months. See below for further details.

High Hills - Saturday, 8th August (10am) £9.00

A six hour strenuous walk in the hills of the Northern Cheviots with Peter McEwen.  This walk must be pre-booked and pre-paid, to book your place contact Peter on 0190 257 2601 or 01668 216439 or Walk Northumbria

Rock Art - Saturday, 17th October (2pm) £6.00

St Cuthbert's Way - Harestanes to Cessford - Sunday, 18th October 10am - 4pm
Scottish Borders Council guided walk

Explore the variety of wildlife to be found on this 8 mile/13km moderate walk.  Meet at Harestanes Visitor Centre, NT 642244.  Free return transport provided. Children under 13 must be with an adult.  Adults £5, concessions £3 and children free.

Wooler Walk Weekend

Explore the Cheviot Hills & Beyond

Friday 13th - Sunday 15th November

Based at Wooler Youth Hoster, guided walks, accommodation, meal packages and evening entertainment are all part of the programme.  Staying at the three star graded Wooler Youth Hostel on the edge of Northumberland National Park.  Guides from Walk Northumbria will offer two walks each day and a night walk on the Saturday, sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for the cultural heritage of the area.  Four different packages are available from £75 including three nights accommodation.  For more information go to Wooler Community Website

Morebattle - Sunday 15th November (10am-4pm)

Scottish Borders Council guided walk

An 8 mile/13km strenuous hike via Grubbit Law and Cliftoncote then returning by St Cuthbert's Way over Wideopen Hill, with fine views into the Cheviot Hills.  Meet outside the Templehall Hotel, Morebattle (Grid Ref NT773248).  Adults £5, concessions £3 and children free.  Childern under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Into The Dark - Saturday 28th November, (4pm) £15.00

Ever wondered what it would be like to walk in the dark?  This is your chance to find out!  A three hour, 3 to 4 mile short walk over varied terrain around Kirknewton.  This walk must be pre-booked and pre-paid, to book your place contact Peter on 01668 216439 or 07764584382 or www.walknorthumbria.co.uk.

The Mince Pie Special - Saturday 12th December, (10am) £9.00

A six hour medium walk with a difference.
