Continuing Involvement at Hareshaw Linn

Hareshaw Leaves © Simon FrazerHareshaw WoodsNorthumberland National Park is still involved in work at Hareshaw Linn.

  • The site of Hareshaw Linn is patrolled fortnightly and litter removed. The National Park Voluntary Rangers completed a spring clean litter sweep in early 2004.
  • Work has been undertaken on the second footbridge and associated length of path (approximately 200 metres) beyond it.
  • Permission is being sought from the Environment Agency to undertake some bank stabilisation work where undercutting has occurred at the Mineral Workings at the picnic site. This is expected to take place over a number of years.
  • Following the floods during January 2005, sections of the path have been affected and work is on-going to repair these areas.
