Community Economic Development

The National Park Authority is seeking sustainable rural development in the National Park. These aims are set out in the National Park Management Plan and underpin planning policy.

The National Park Authority works to encourage enterprise amongst the communities of the area with partners in the Region. These partners include the County and District Councils, One NorthEast, Business Link and DEFRA. The National Park Authority is able to offer advice and support to the local communities and can provide grant assistance for certain types of projects.
