Members and Committees

River Coquet and Simonside Hills © Simon FraserRiver Coquet Northumberland National Park Authority consists of 22 members who are appointed to represent local interests and communities and also national interests.

Our members serve on various committees directly involved in the running of the National Park Authority and also a number of outside bodies on which they represent the interests of Northumberland National Park.  

In addition to the Full Authority which meets quarterly, our committees are the Development Control Committee, the Review Panel, the Standards Committee and the Strategic Leadership Panel, as well as subject specific Working Groups and Task and Finish Groups.

Details of Forthcoming Meetings

The Development Control Committee meeting  scheduled for Wednesday 12th November 2008 at 10.30am has been cancelled as there are no items of business to discuss.  The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 10th December 2008 at 10.30 am at National Park Headquarters, Eastburn, unless a site visit is required in which case an alternative venue will be booked. The Agenda and papers will be available five clear working days prior to the meeting.

  • Meetings of the Development Control Committee are open to the public. The Authority operates a Public Speaking Scheme for Development Control Committee meetings. Details are available by following the link. Please ensure that requests to take part in Public Speaking at the meeting are submitted to the Corporate Administration team in accordance with the instructions contained in the guidance document.

There will be a Special Meeting of the Full Authority on Thursday 20th November 2008, 3.30pm, to be held at The Tankerville Arms, Wooler to consider the Authority's response to the Forestry Commission consultation on the Environment Statement regarding the deforestation and habitat restoration proposals for Threestoneburn Forest.  The agenda and papers will be available five working days before the meeting.

The next meeting of the Full Authority will be held on Wednesday 10th December 2008 at 2 pm at National Park Headquarters, Hexham. The agenda and papers will be available five working days before the meeting.

  • Meetings of Northumberland National Park Authority are open to the public. Public Questions can be put to the meeting in accordance with the Authority's Public Question Time Scheme and must be received in writing ten working days before the meeting.
