Northumberland National Park calls for local people to get involved with policy and decision-making
Northumberland National Park Authority is reviewing its ‘Statement of Community Involvement’ and is offering people who live in communities in and around the National Park the opportunity to influence the process.
The Statement is a legal document which explains how the Authority will involve local communities and other stakeholders in making policies and taking decisions in its 405 square miles of protected landscape that covers 20 per cent of the County.
People in communities in the Hadrian’s Wall corridor, the North Tyne Valley, Otterburn and Redesdale, the Coquet Valley, Glendale and the Cheviots, who either live in or use the countryside for leisure, are all potentially affected by the development control decisions and policies of the National Park Authority.
The present National Park Statement of Community Involvement, which was drafted in 2006, can be read on this website. People who would like to ask questions or make a contribution to the new version of the Statement are invited to call Alison Jones on 01434 611552 or Jo-Anne Garrick, on 01434 611577 or e-mail ldf@nnpa.org.uk
