Sites and Ancient Monuments

All the National Park's archaeological finds are recorded on the Northumberland Sites and Monuments Record. This covers the whole of Northumberland as Northumberland National Park Authority holds a copy of all the data relating to the National Park. The Sites and Monuments Record should be consulted at an early stage when planning of any kind of development.

Appointments to consult the Sites and Monuments Record can be made by contacting the National Park Archaeologist on 01434 611531. In the case of planned developments outside the National Park or which straddle the National Park boundary, you should contact County Council Sites and Monuments Record which are held in Morpeth.
