Look out for wintering wildfowl such as whooper swans, mute swans, wigeon, teal, goldeneye and tufted ducks on the loughs and Hadrian's Wall corridor.Badger Badger

At this time of year ravens are pairing up for mating and if you're lucky you may see them performing a sky dance as part of their mating ritual. Ravens can often be seen around Simonside at this time of year.

Otters and dippers can be seen in rivers and lakes in Northumberland National Park all year round but at this time of year you are likely to see otter footprints in the snow.

February is also when badgers have their young.
