Hadrian's Wall BusHadrian's Wall Path National Trail is an unbroken 84 mile signposted trail stretching from coast to coast, from Wallsend in the east to Bowness-on-solway in the west. The Trail provides access to some of the best sections of the Wall remains, whilst taking advantage of the rich variety of public paths that already exist.
It passes through some of the most beautiful parts of England - from rolling fields and rugged moorland to the vibrant cities of Newcastle and Carlisle.
The Trail, with links to over 80 short walks, is suitable for people of all ages with opportunities for less abled access to many stretches of the Wall. It is ideal for day visits, short breaks or a week-long holiday.
For more information on the Hadrian's Wall Path visit the National Trails Website.
If walking the whole route is not for you, why not use the award winning Hadrian's Wall Bus service (AD122). This runs between Newcastle and Carlisle from April to October and stops at most of the Roman attractions along the Wall as well visiting picturesque market towns and villages along the way. You can plan your walking with ease, knowing that you can catch the bus out to your destination and walk back or vice-a-versa.
Along the length of Hadrian's Wall, there are numerous circular walks that radiate from the monument into the surrounding countryside. These range from low-level estuary walks along the Solway Coast to picturesque valley walks in Tynedale.
