Make a Map
Help find out and share what’s special about Northumberland National Park at a hands-on event at the Great North Museum in the centre of Newcastle.
On Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd July experts and artists will be working on a textile map of the National Park. We need you to contribute ideas and art for the map!
There will be lots of things to inspire you. Stuffed animals, archaeological finds, plants of moor and meadow, interesting rocks, pictures of castles and bastles. You can also come with your own ideas.
The Great North Museum is open Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 1pm-5pm. National Park Staff will be bringing the uplands gallery to life and the Make a Map workshops will be running throughout the day on the ground floor and garden area. Entry to the museum and the activities are free.
We are sure that once you have heard about all the wonderful sights and sounds in Northumberland National Park you will want to see things for yourself. There is no better time to visit than National Parks Week 2012, 30th July to 5th August. See www.northumberlandnationalpark.org.uk for details of activities.
