You’ll be able to gather information on nearby accommodation, local attractions, public transport timetables, walking and cycling routes, walking guides and gifts.

The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre

The Sill is our brand new visitor attraction exciting and inspiring people of all ages to explore the landscape, history, culture and heritage of Northumberland.

The Sill features exhibitions, learning and event spaces, a local food café, a world-class Youth Hostel, rural business hub, and a shop specialising in local crafts and produce. The Sill is a real showcase of local pride and passion.

Coquetdale Centre, Rothbury

Northumberland National Park Authority and Tomlinson’s work in partnership to keep the Coquetdale Centre in Rothbury open as an information hub for visitors.

The Coquetdale Centre is a great starting point for visitors making their plans to explore this stunning part of the National Park with its network of cycle tracks, public footpaths and heritage attractions. In addition to providing information on events, attractions, accommodation and places to visit in the local area and wider region, visitors to the Centre will also benefit from access to free Wi-Fi.

There is also a takeaway service in the Centre offering delicious, locally made products including artisan chocolate, jams and chutneys alongside a variety of refreshments, homemade sandwiches, snacks, cakes and tray bakes – ideal for visitors on the go.

The Coquetdale Centre is a great starting point to help with your plans to explore this wonderful part of the region. It’s ideally located for many landmarks like The Simonside Hills and Lordenshaws, and there are plenty of walk routes you can find out about from information staff.

Walltown Visitor Centre

Ideally located near the Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site, this is a great place to start your day out. Get some helpful insights from our friendly staff and treat yourself to a cup of tea and cake while you’re there.
