New Naturalist - Now Recruiting

Our New Naturalist programme is specially designed for students aged 14-16 to gain skills and knowledge working in real natural environments.

Aiming for a career in conservation or the environment? Would you like to gain the nationally recognised John Muir Award?

The New Naturalist programme includes topics such as:

  • small mammal trapping
  • spider hunting
  • wildflowers
  • moth trapping
  • fungi
  • birds
  • woodlands, mire and bogs
  • ancient trees
  • nature photography and much more…

Based in Rothbury with field trips to sites within Northumberland National Park the cost of the programme is £50 per young person (transport to Rothbury not included).
