Walk Details

Event date:
27/05/2018
Time:
10:30 am
Location:
The Sill National Landscape Discovery Centre, Bardon Mill, Hexham, NE47 7AN

Join a Voluntary Ranger for all or part of a patrol route along Hadrian’s Wall and learn a little about the area and the work of the National Park.

The walk heads east along Hadrian’s Wall, passing Sycamore Gap of “Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves” fame, to just beyond Housesteads Fort, one of the best preserved Roman forts in Britain.

The return to the north gives some excellent views of the Wall and an appreciation of how it must have impacted upon the native tribes. A fairly strenuous walk with many ups and downs but a much easier return route.

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed.
