The Introduction to Navigation course is your key to getting started in countryside and moorland walking.

No experience of hill walking required to attend this Introductory course because the content of the course is aimed at beginners. If you do have some experience of hill walking but are not confident about planning walks, navigating and understanding the equipment required, then this introductory course is an ideal way to learn.

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed.

Please dress for changeable weather, wear walking boots or shoes and bring drinks and snacks.  If you have not already booked online, please pay on arrival.

From Rothbury take the B6341 west to Thropton. At the ‘Cross Keys’ take the road on the right for Netherton, at the school junction turn right for Alnham. Park on the grass verge in front of the church.
