Join our walk that begins by visiting some of the best wildflower-rich traditional hay meadows in the county.

We then turn our attention to the history of this wild region, visiting a church with connections to the Napoleonic wars, an C18th dovecote and a bastle, a fortified farmhouse, whose tranquil setting belies its violent past in the days of the border reivers.

Leave Bellingham on the Hexham road, turn right onto minor road before crossing the River Tyne. After approx 3 miles turn right at Lanehead crossroads. Greenhaugh is 1 nile away. The car park is in the village, on the right, just past the Holly Bush Inn.

For those wishing to use GPS/Sat-Nav to find walk start points please note that, particularly in open-country, postcodes cover a large area, so, whilst the postcode will get you to the right general area, you will still need to follow the detailed directions to locate the actual Walk Start Point.
