Drake Stone to the Star

Event date:
1st March 2020
Forestry Commission West Wood Car Park, Harbottle

Our walk begins with a climb to the magnificent Drake Stone which looks east over Harbottle and the remains of its castle.

Climbing a little further we reach the hidden, Harbottle Lake, before descending back to the valley floor before visiting well-preserved lime kilns, Alwinton's ancient church and the village of Harbottle with the remains of its Norman fort.

Our walk finishes at The Star public house which is run by a member of our Guided Walks team.
