Great Tosson, Lordenshaw and Simonside

Event date:
25th May 2022
Lordenshaws National Park Car Park

Leaving Lordenshaws car park we follow Saint Oswald’s Way past Spylaw Cottage to Coquet Cairn.

This provides an interesting opportunity to see the Simonside Ridge from the open moorland to the south. We then head north to the mysterious, rocky ravine of Selby’s Cove before climbing onto the western side of the ridge and following it back to Lordenshaws to explore the enigmatic cup and ring rock art and the Bronze Age hill fort.
