Looking Down on Elsdon Guided Walk

Event date:
6th June 2021
Time:
10:30
Location:
Elsdon Village Tea Room

A circular walk around Elsdon taking in views northwards to the Cheviots from Gallow Hill named from its role in the time of the Border Reivers.

This circular walk starts at the Tea Room in the centre of the village of Elsdon and climbs gently to the west past a Folly which is not what it seems. The path turns south and then descends through farmland to cross the Elsdon Burn. After passing through the new plantations at the renovated Haining, a short climb leads to the summit of Gallow Hill which offers great views of the village of Elsdon and beyond towards the Cheviots.

Descending the north face of the hill the walk re-enters the village at the bottom of the extensive and historic village green.

Numbers are limited to 12 so it is essential to book.
