Northumberland Day on Cheviot

This circular walk climbs to the 815m (2674ft) summit of The Cheviot, the highest hill in Northumberland.

From the start point at Langleeford, we follow the path to Goldscleugh where we climb up to Cheviot returning to the start via Scald Hill. In the right conditions you can enjoy views to The North Sea, Lake District Fells, Cross Fell and the Lammermuir Hills.

Starting point (please meet here approximately 10 minutes before the walk start time): Langleeford

From Newcastle take the A697 to Wooler. At Wooler take Cheviot Street, the first on the left, SW for 'Harthope Valley' via Earle and Middleton Hall for approx 6 miles. Park on the Roadside.
