Ranger Patrol of Hadrian's Wall by eBike

Event date:
18th September 2019
The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre

A great opportunity to patrol the northern frontier of the Roman Empire on an eBike with a National Park Ranger.

You will cycle along the most iconic section of the Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site and into ‘bandit country’, where Romans dared to march!

As you traverse this ancient landscape, along quiet country lanes and byways, you will hear about the area’s turbulent medieval past, and how in more peaceful times, sheep farming and forestry continue to shape the land today. The ride includes awe-inspiring views across to the Scottish Borders.

You'll discover the fascinating history of the Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site, from pre-historic times to modern day, and enjoy the wild open vistas of the border country. Delight in riding an eBike, whilst receiving a unique insight into the management and care of the area from a National Park Ranger.

Each ride will last approximately ninety minutes. Riders must be over 14 years old.

Suitable clothing and footwear for cycling in variable weather conditions. Helmets will be provided.

Participants will receive free parking at The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre.
