Step back in time in this remote landscape to see how prehistoric people lived.

Starting at the Ingram Bridge car park our route follows an old drovers road to Wether Hill Hillfort, with magnificent views of the Cheviot and Simonside Hills.

Our route continues via the unusual "valley" hillfort at Middle Dean with its extensive cultivation Terraces, before descending to the road and returning to the welcoming cafe at Ingram Bridge.

Please dress for changeable weather, wear walking boots or shoes and bring drinks and snacks.  If you have not already booked online, please pay on arrival. Dogs are not permitted on this walk.

From Wooler take the A697 south, just before Powburn take the right signed ‘Ingram’. Continue on this road for approx 3 miles, cross the bridge over the River Breamish and the car park is on the left.
