This guided walk climbs out of Simonburn along Castle Lane before heading north giving excellent views of the North Tyne valley and Chipchase Castle.

We walk a picturesque track and the route then passes the intriguingly named 'Catless' Farm before climbing up onto Ravenshaugh Crags, with the 'Goatstones' stone circle. The route back is over classic Northumbrian fells, re-joining Castle Lane.

Take the B6320 from Chollerford towards Bellingham.After 4 miles turn left to Simonburn (0.5 mile). The car park is to the left of the church.
