The North Cheviot Circuit

A lovely circuit over open moorland on the north side of the Cheviots from Wooler Common with some superb views.

Starting from Wooler Common, we head to Wooler Common farm, then southwest along Hell path dropping down to cross the Carey burn and onto lonely Broadstruther.We climb onto Great Moor before dropping down to Commonburn House.

Once onto Scaldhill we pick up the St Cuthbert’s Way path via Gains Law back to Wooler Common.

Starting point (please meet here approximately 10 minutes before the walk start time): Wooler Common Car Park

From Newcastle take the A697 to Wooler. At Wooler take 'Ramsey Lane', the second road on the left, SW for 1 mile to the car park on the right.
