W2W - Greenlee Lough Wetland Boardwalk

Event date:
30th July 2021
Time:
11:00
Location:
Greenlee Lough Permissive Car Park

Our Walk to Wellbeing Programme is the easy way to get out and get healthy in Northumberland National Park. West Tynedale Health Walk Leaders have designed and are leading walks suitable for people wanting an easy introduction to the inspirational landscapes of Northumberland National Park.

Leaving Gibbs Hill Farm, the route follows the bridleway heading towards Greenlee farm. The walk then goes off right onto the boardwalks where rare and wonderful fauna and insects are to be found (including stunning reed beds). The route continues along the boardwalks to Greenlee Lough where we have the opportunity to visit the hide next to the lough where we can view the birds on the water (binoculars would be a good idea!).

From there we walk up to Greenlee Farm and then follow the bridleway back to Gibbs Hill Farm
