Walk - The Three Loughs

Event date:
18th August 2019
Time:
10:30
Location:
The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre

Our walk begins by using the boardwalk through reed beds to the National Nature Reserve at Greenlee Lough.

We then head east to pick up the Pennine Way before going around the shoreline of Broomlee Lough with its contrasting geology and flora and which is home to otters and our native crayfish.

Our return leg provides excellent views of Hadrian's Wall from the north before we finish by passing Crag Lough, the last of the three loughs, all relics of the last Ice Age more than 10,000 years ago.
