Heritage clothing range launched

Northumberland National Park has launched a new heritage clothing range to celebrate the Park’s 65th anniversary.

As England’s most northern National Park, and voted the number one National Park in the UK*, 2021 is a special year for Northumberland National Park as it marks 65 years since it was created to preserve and enhance its iconic landscape.

The new National Park merchandise, which is available online from Friday 1st October 2021, features the original Northumberland National Park logo from 1956. The range includes sweatshirts, hoodies, t-shirts and tote bags, available in adult and children’s sizes.

Tony Gates, Chief Executive at Northumberland National Park Authority, said: “Northumberland National Park was created in 1956 to help preserve and enhance the area’s unique and special landscape for the enjoyment and wellbeing of those living, working and visiting.

“Over the years, and especially over the past 18 months, people of all ages and backgrounds have turned to the outdoors for their physical and mental wellbeing; the National Park has become even more of a significant place for visitors, both new and those returning, to explore, because of its tranquil spaces.

“The new collection will bring nostalgia to many, with its iconic late 50s logo, and it also signifies just how far Northumberland National Park has come in 65 years. We hope people who purchase the range will be encouraged to play their part in ensuring the National Park remains a beautiful and treasured landscape for the next 65 years and beyond.”
