About our committee
The Development Management Committee is responsible for all of the Northumberland National Park Authority’s functions relating to planning and development control. It makes decisions on planning applications, including those which relate to listed buildings or buildings in conservation areas, and can authorise enforcement action where development has taken place without planning permission.
Please note that meetings and start times will be confirmed nearer the time. Meetings will normally take place at National Park offices unless otherwise indicated.
Development Management Committee members (as at June 2021)
At the Authority’s Annual Meeting on 16 September 2020 the following nine members were elected to the Development Management Committee: Mr Chris Mullin, Ms Pippa Ross, Ms Marie Fallon, Cllr John Riddle, Cllr Julian Morrison-Bell, Cllr Alan Sharp, Cllr Sue Bolam and Cllr Val Gibson.
Julian Morrison-Bell was elected DMC Chair and Cllr John Riddle elected DMC Deputy Chair.
Development Management Committee meetings are open to members of the public. The agenda and reports will be made available during the week prior to the meeting. Papers from previous meetings are also available.
The next confirmed meeting of DMC will be Wednesday 28 July 2021 with further information provided in due course.
The DMC meeting scheduled for Wednesday 16 June 2021 will not take place. The next scheduled DMC meeting is Wednesday 28 July 2021.
