This checklist refers to planning applications for works or extension that are to be carried out to a dwelling house, but excludes applications for Listed Building Consent.

National Requirements

All submitted plans must incorporate a drawing number and title.

Local Requirements

The following items form part of the Northumberland National Park Authority Local Validation List and may be required as described in the detailed notes which can be accessed using the hyperlinks in the table.

Site Plan

Required in most cases.

Existing and Proposed Elevations

Required in most cases.

Existing and Proposed Floor Plans

Required in most cases.

Existing and proposed Site Sections and Layout

May be required in cases where this would add to the understanding of the layout.

Roof Plans

May be required in cases where there is an alteration to an existing roof.

Biodiversity Survey

May be required in applications involving the demolition of a building, the alteration of a roof or the removal of trees/vegetation.

Flood Risk Assessment

May be required for proposals within flood zones 2 & 3.

Heritage Statement

May be required for proposals affecting designated and non-designated heritage assets.

Landscaping Plan

May be required for  proposals involving landscaping alterations.

Lighting Assessment

May be required for proposals including external lighting.

Parking Provision

May be required for development that would result in the loss of parking

Tree Survey

May be required for developments which would have a material impact on trees.
