Newbrough Town Hall

We start in the valley at the old Town Hall and climb north up on to the Wall, visit Brocolitia , and return.

A walk involving fells, byways and footpaths, starting in Newbrough climbing up to The Wall past historic properties and medieval remains. We will stop at the monument for Baden Powells scout camp erected in 2008 to commemorate the centenary. Walking along the wall adjacent to the Vallum, cut into the local stone, we visit Brocolitia and the Temple of Mithras, and on our return we will stop at the Church of St Peters.

Dress for changeable weather and wear suitable footwear. Bring a packed lunch, snacks and a drink for the break.
Dogs are not permitted at this event.

Leave the A69 at the western end of the Hexham Bypass signed Fourstones. Newbrough is 3.5 miles along the road just after the village of Fourstones.park with consideration in the village. Meet outside the Town Hall.
