Lordenshaws Car Park

Although we start from Lordenshaws, we don’t walk the normal paths , and we see Simonside from a different perspective.

The route takes us from Lordenshaws car park along St Oswald’s Way to the interesting landmark of Coquet Cairn. We cross open moorland, which offers a different perspective of the Simonside Ridge from the south. We walk along the edge of Harwood Forest to pick up a footpath that will take us to the mysterious rocky ravine of Selby’s Cove and then on to join the western edge of the Simonside ridge. This walk of contrasting landscapes and outstanding views then follows the ridge eastwards back to Lordenshaws.

Dress for changeable weather and wear suitable footwear. Bring a packed lunch, snacks and a drink for the break.

Please be aware the dogs are not permitted at this event.

Cost: £5
