Thropton Village Hall

A short walk above the village of Thropton with splendid views over Simonside, the River Coquet and the Cheviot Hills, brought to life by the voices of the people who lived and worked there.  Hear their voices, standing in the places that they are talking about.  

The Out of Town Museum (OOT ) has been collecting memories and photographs to capture the stories and tales told about how life used to be in the valley and has combined them with the chance to experience the landscape and routes that the people telling the stories used.

This programme of walks is run in partnership with Northumberland National Park volunteer rangers and special thanks go to Brian Rogers, Susan Laverick and John Ainsley for their skills, experience and enthusiasm in making the walks such a great success.

Terrain: Track and grass paths. Long steepish ascent

Dress for changeable weather and wear suitable footwear. Bring a packed lunch, snacks and plenty of fluids to drink.
Dogs are not permitted on this walk.
